Nowadays there are many useful books on the Caro-Kann Defense. From my experience, studying these books, I can say that they contain a lot of valuable knowledge in the diverse variations of this opening. However, the disadvantage of studying the Caro-Kann Defense from published books is that they consider the main variations of this opening and do not touch on rare variations (or touch on them very superficially).
